Christmas Party

This little man has my brothers loving heart.  He is working in Casper WY. and when he came home for the weekend he had this little surprise for Popcorn a stylin' new hat.  He about got him a leather jacket but it was the wrong size.  He loves the babies and the kids, and will make the best Dad, he is an awesome brother and an amazing uncle who is not afraid to show the nieces and nephews he loves them.
While he was home we had our family Christmas party. We had a blast at the party. We ate yummy pizza while watching a Christmas Movie then headed upstairs to the new rec room (aka the dance studio) to take a few swings at the butterfly pinata (try finding a pinata in Logan now that six star is gone, you get a butterfly).  It is so fun to watch the kids swing with all their might and try and try and try to break it open.  This is where Jason and Lesli come in.  They had to wait very patiently for the kids to take their turn, then they got their chance and they broke it open.

As we were getting the kids dressed in their nativity scene clothing we hear a LOUD crash, bang, popping sound going off.  The kids ran into the living room so confused, we open the front door to find Santa had left his bag on the front step.  We really hoped that Santa was okay after his very rough landing, Nanny and Grumpy Gramps even took the grand kids out in the cold to check and make sure all was well and Santa was not hurt. They did not find Santa so we assumed he made it home safely.  And he did because he visited us a few weeks later and left more goods for the kids.
Here is Troy passing out the presents to the kids, see he is so cute with them . The kids were so excited.

Then we sat down to listen to Grumpy Gramps read the nativity as each of the kids played their part.  The girls were beautiful Mary's with angel halos, the boys reverent Joseph's and a charming baby Jesus.  To me this was the best part of the night.  The kids were excited to look at the pictures in the book, not always quiet jsut interested in the story of Jesus.  And whats not more perfect then listening to the story read by an amazing dad with his family.  It was perfect.

My parents have the most amazing yard that includes their own ice rink.  After trying to figure it out for 3 or 4 years they have perfected it.  It is so fun to watch the kids skate.  I remember heading down to Merlin Olsen park to skate all winter long. My kids know get to skate at grandma and grandpas how lucky are they.  They have done it a few times since but this was the first time of the session they were able to skate.  Such a fun way to end the night.  It was a little rough to start with, but did not take long to figure it out.  The best part was when Jason and Lesli would push the kids around the ice while sitting on a chair.  Their smiles were priceless.
It was a wonderful party and a great way to start the Christmas season off with.
